With almost as many career fairs as football games scheduled for September, it’s clear the job market is hot. Jobs in #technology may be the hottest of all: Cincinnati Bell and CBTS are looking to fill several technical—and non-technical roles—and will have been to more than a dozen events this month, speaking with candidates from colleges and universities, and local and military organizations.

Cincinnati Bell and CBTS are on the hunt for candidates from all majors and experience for internships, co-ops, and full-time positions in sales, sales support, and finance as well as a range of technical roles. These positions are available across the country, including Hawaii. Hiring managers in all areas anticipate a successful career fair season.

“We love to meet people with a collaborative attitude and want to understand personal accomplishments and how that would fit into our organization,” says Andrea Alexander, corporate recruiting manager.

Miami University kicked off the career fair season with two events on September 11: the Fall Career and Internship Fair and a Diversity and Inclusion networking event, an informal environment to connect talented diverse individuals focused on the importance of inclusion and equity as key elements of a successful career path.

On Thursday, September 12, RecruitMilitary, a national military recruiting firm, and DAV, a major veteran service organization serving veterans of all eras, have partnered to deliver a career fair for military veterans in the Cincinnati area. Anyone who has served on active duty, in the National Guard, or in the Reserves, and their spouses are invited to attend from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Great American Ballpark.

The University of Dayton invites all students and alumni from a variety of majors to its Fall Career and Internship Fair on Monday, September 16 at the UD RecPlex from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Cincinnati Works hosts its Fall Job Fair Tuesday, September 17 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Xavier University’s Cintas Center.

Xavier’s Career Development and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion host a Diversity Reception in the Cintas Center Wednesday, September 18, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. This event draws more than 100 students, alumni, and employers who embrace and support diversity and allyship in the workplace.  More than 500 are expected for Xavier’s Career Fair the following Tuesday, September 24, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Cintas Center.

The University of Cincinnati devotes most of a week to career opportunities with a series of events designed to introduce students and alumni from a diverse set of majors to employers looking to fulfill their full-time, co-op, and internship needs. UC’s Professional Career Fair showcases non-technical majors on Tuesday, September 24; the Technical Career Fair featuring Engineering and IT majors happens the following day. Cincinnati Bell and CBTS will also connect with candidates at the Society of Women Engineers Evening event Tuesday night.

Career Connections is Northern Kentucky University’s business-focused career fair taking place on Wednesday, September 25, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at NKU’s Student Union Ballroom (their STEM-focused fair happens the following Wednesday, October 2).

Two national organizations bookend the month at local hotels: National Career Fairs held their event Wednesday, September 11 at the Clarion Hotel-Cincinnati North, and the JobNewsUSA.com Job Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn West Chester.
