As companies grow and evolve, so do their legal departments. The interactions between business units and the General Counsel’s team often set the tone for the entire organization, shaping their respective approaches to risk management and problem-solving.

At CBTS, our legal department’s role goes beyond simply mitigating legal risks. We’ve established a culture of practical problem-solving and long-term strategic thinking. We believe that legal professionals should proactively identify potential risks and partner with the business team to develop solutions. This might involve developing contracts that allow clients to take advantage of new opportunities while protecting the company’s interests, or helping the business navigate compliance requirements in order to expand business in a foreign jurisdiction.

Ultimately, the legal department plays a critical role in identifying and mitigating legal, regulatory and reputational risks, and a strong partnership between legal and business units is essential for success.

Creating trust

As an organization, CBTS prioritizes creating trust with our clients, leaders, and the community, which is essential to our company’s and clients’ success.

To this end, we strive to provide guidance in the areas of legal and regulatory compliance, governance and ethics.  We understand that success is about achieving goals and doing so responsibly. By prioritizing compliance and governance, we ensure we operate legally and ethically, ultimately benefiting everyone involved.

Dispense strategic and operational clarity

As a company, CBTS strives to improve its decision-making processes and facilitate better corporate outcomes. Through our work, we have found new ways to synthesize and analyze information from various sources, creating decision-making frameworks that let us make informed choices quickly and efficiently.

CBTS focuses on providing our clients with strategic and operational clarity, helping them better understand the risks and opportunities associated with their business operations.

By shifting focus from solely risk management to a more comprehensive approach, we can provide greater value to our clients and help them achieve their goals. This shift enables us to continue delivering exceptional service and support to our clients while driving innovation and growth within our organization.

Provide valuable business strategy

Being key to essential contract negotiations and decision-making processes, the legal department provides valuable input with a keen understanding of internal and external company dealings. We provide insightful contributions to the overall business strategy by carefully considering the various business implications.

Additionally, a firm grasp of enterprise risk management and a solid understanding of the business and industry allows the General Counsel to consistently deliver significant value to the company’s strategic objectives.

Why CBTS is different

The General Counsel’s role in an organization goes beyond mitigating legal risks. At CBTS, we prioritize creating trust, providing strategic and operational clarity, developing a motivational environment, and offering valuable business strategies.

By striving to meet these goals, we can ensure that our organization operates legally and ethically while driving innovation and growth.

As we enter a high-growth mode, we remain on top of legal issues to ensure our continued success. A strong partnership between legal and business units is essential for achieving these objectives.
