Because recruiting never knows an off-season, Cincinnati Bell and CBTS continue to pursue candidates at local career fairs and events in October and November. Two large events at the Duke Energy Convention Center (DECC) in October will take unique approaches to the traditional career fair.
The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber invites thousands of students from the area’s colleges and universities “to discover and explore Cincinnati with eyes wide open” at the Big College Event on Thursday, October 24 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. For one night only, students can connect with employers, interest groups, social scenes and more within the friendly confines of the Duke Energy Convention Center. According to the Chamber’s website, “The Big College Event deepens affinity for the region and helps students realize that the best in life awaits by choosing Cincinnati after graduation.”
Cincinnati Public Schools hosts their 5th Annual Career Expo, Thursday, October 31, and Friday, November 1 from 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Duke Energy Convention Center. More than 1,300 high school students will meet representatives from local businesses to explore the diversity of careers available to them locally upon graduation. According to CPS, it’s an opportunity for high school students to practice networking skills while learning what they need to do to achieve these careers. Additionally, local businesses like Cincinnati Bell who interact with these students have a chance to contribute to building a more productive local economy.
Cincinnati Bell and CBTS recruiters will also hit the road to Central State University, a historically black college in Wilberforce, Ohio, on Wednesday, October 16. CSU’s Career and Internship Fair, happening from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., will introduce businesses to students who are interested in exploring management training and professional entry programs, internships, and co-ops as well as full-time positions.
Finally, Cincinnati Bell and CBTS representatives will also attend events presented by two national organizations in November. JobFair X welcomes job-seekers on Tuesday, November 12, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Hyatt Place Sharonville Convention Center. National Career Fairs returns to Clarion Hotel-Cincinnati North Wednesday, November 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
